Alex joined Bell Cornwell in the Hook office in September 2017. He has joined from the Planning Bureau which is a subsidiary of retirement developer McCarthy & Stone. Alex worked in both the West Midlands and East Midlands regions and was pivotal in gaining approval of McCarthy & Stones’ first 100% bungalow scheme in Wymondham, Norfolk.
Alex enjoys the way in which Planning can throw up all kinds of scenarios where you are forced to think on your feet whilst using your experience to bring everything together. Gaining a positive result from a challenging project is something he always finds rewarding.
Before going into private practice, Alex spent three years in Local Government where he was in Development Control and then an Enforcement Officer for a County Council Waste & Minerals Department. After moving into the private practice he was responsible for Paddy Power’s large growth within the UK whilst also working closely with Bellway Homes, Cala Homes and Taylor Wimpey in the Midlands.
A Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute, Alex studied an International Masters in Spatial Planning in Stockholm, Sweden prior to gaining a Masters in Property Development and a Town & Country Planning Degree both from Birmingham City University.Back to our team
