Michael joined Bell Cornwell in 1999 having spent his early career working for a number of local planning authorities including Horsham, Chichester, East Hampshire and Basingstoke and Deane. He became a Partner of the practice in 2006.

His work encompasses a broad range of planning work from small scale projects for private individuals to large scale projects for public sector and corporate clients. His projects include commercial, residential, heritage and waste schemes spread mainly throughout the South of England. His work focuses on development control matters including the preparation of planning appraisals, preparing and managing planning applications, appeals, including appearing as expert witness at informal hearings and public inquiries, as well as land promotion. He has significant experience in bringing together project teams and leading complex applications.

Michael adopts a hands-on approach from initial advice through to the negotiation of applications and the delivery of planning permission.

Michael is a chartered Town Planner and was elected to membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute in 1991. He holds a degree in Geography and Landscape Studies and a post graduate Bachelor of Town Planning degree.
