Successful Mixed Use Scheme in Exeter

Bell Cornwell’s Exeter office successfully obtained full Planning Permission for a mixed-use development in Pinhoe, Devon. Pinhoe is a village based on the north-eastern outskirts of Exeter set in an environmentally sensitive area.

The development came as part of the wider Old Park Farm – a scheme which our Exeter office also worked on gaining permission for the construction of 750 new homes. The site was set in a sensitive area with adjoining sites to consider and support throughout the application. The commercial side of the development was well needed in the area to both facilitate the new homes being built as well as any existing.

The new site will provide:

  • 165 full-time jobs,
  • A medium-sized convenience store,
  • Park and ride facilities into Exeter city centre and surrounding areas,
  • Cycle/footpath links,
  • Care home facilities for the elderly,
  • Facilitated access to the Free School and Nursery on adjoining land,

The scheme is one that Bell Cornwell are very proud to have worked on as the development will provide day to day benefits to the local community whilst generating employment at various levels and support to the local school.
