Project Overview

Bell Cornwell assisted Spink Property in obtaining planning permission and listed building consent for the restoration of a listed property back into its original use as a single family dwelling.

The property, designed by George Devy in red brick Queen Anne Revival architectural style, is Grade II Listed and lies within a conservation area. Special care was therefore needed with the refurbishment project in retaining original architectural features and restoring/reinstating other features where necessary.

The scheme included a contemporary glass lift located within an enclosed lightwell at the rear thereby identifying how contemporary design can integrate well with historic buildings without compromising the architectural or historic integrity of the listed building whilst allowing the residential accommodation to meet modern day living requirements.
