Strategic Site Promotion

The Practice is actively monitoring or promoting major development proposals for a variety of clients.

Bell Cornwell has extensive experience in promoting strategic land for development originally through the old structure and local plan processes and more recently through Local Development Frameworks. This latterly included making detailed submissions and presenting evidence at a number of core strategy inquiries. Now that Regional Spatial Strategies have been revoked, the strategic planning system is in a state of flux until the practical implications of “localism” become more apparent. In the meantime we continue to monitor the plan making activities of local planning authorities and actively engage in the promotion of development sites by seeking to influence policy in the evolving local development documents. This often includes preparing detailed submissions to Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessments (SHLAAs) as one of the methods of early promotion.
