Planning permission granted for new dwelling in the countryside

21st July 2015

The Exeter office of Bell Cornwell have recently had success in assisting a private client in winning permission for a new dwelling in the countryside. The success follows participation at an enforcement and planning public inquiry in March 2015 in which West Devon District Council sought to resist the scheme on the grounds that a previous residential use of the land had been abandoned.

With the assistance of counsel, Josef Cannon from Cornerstone Chambers, and Bell Cornwell, the client overcame these arguments with the Inspector granting planning permission and making a full award of costs against the Council. For more information please contact Iestyn John.
