Outline consent for 45 dwellings, public open space and enhancements to adjoining school facilities has been granted by North Devon District Council. Consent for this departure application was achieved after the first application was refused by the District Council on grounds of prematurity in terms of the localism agenda and the strength of the local housing market to support delivery in combination with proposed allocations in the emerging Local Plan. However, following submission of an appeal and our advice to them on interpretation of the NPPF and NPPG supported by a recent appeal decision, the local planning authority invited a resubmission.
