Andrew joined Bell Cornwell in June 2022 and is an Associate planner based in the Buckinghamshire office. He advises a variety of clients on their equally diverse projects, undertaking planning appraisals, applications and appeals on their behalf.
Andrew has worked in both the public and private sector, first as an officer with St Albans City & District Council, and then for a planning consultancy based in Hertfordshire. His time in local authority provided him with an outlook that still serves his day-to-day work, however, it was his drive to produce tangible solutions that saw him move to consultancy back in 2015.
Andrew handles a wide range of planning related projects, including residential, commercial, education, employment and mixed-use development through all stages of the planning process from pre-application advice to appeals. In particular, Andrew has expertise dealing with applications in the Green Belt, which is a common issue to tackle in the Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire area, including where development has required Very Special Circumstances arguments to be advanced.
The varied and eclectic nature of planning appealed to Andrew early on in his career and the system’s complexity is what has continued to keep him interested and engaged since 2005. Andrew gained a Masters Degree in Planning Policy and Practice from London Southbank University and has been a chartered member of the RTPI since 2016.Back to our team
