Project Overview

Bell Cornwell successfully obtained planning permission for a flatted scheme of 9 units at Victoria Wharf, Kensal Green adjacent to a Grade II Listed building in the City of Westminster, London.

The existing site consists of a builders yard adjacent to the Grand Union Canal. The principle of development was acceptable, nevertheless, a previous application had been refused on this site and Bell Cornwell was instructed to collate a team to overcome the Councils concerns, which included the help of Vine Architecture Studio and Eight Associates.

Detailed discussions were required with the Council and the Canal & River Trust to secure a high-quality design that responded to its context, nearby heritage assets, the canalscape and enhanced the ecological value of the canal which is a Metropolitan Site of Nature Conservation, whilst also protecting a neighbouring amenity.
